Newborn photos

We recently had newborn photos taken of Elias and wanted to share a sneak peek of them. Jessica Johnston, was the photographer, and she did an amazing job capturing his sweetness! Elias was a wonderful model and only wimpered a few times during the photo shoot! He may have a career in modeling in the future! ;0 Feel free to visit our photographers website to view more of the photos. www.jessicajohnstonphoto.blogspot.com

Elias Paul Lynch

Elias Paul Lynch was born on Wednesday, September 30th at 1:19 pm. He weighed 6#10 oz and was 20 in long. Our hearts are beaming with love for this little guy. He is such a blessing to our family and we can't wait to watch him grow and reach each milestone. For now we are resting peacefully at home enjoying each precious moment the newborn days bring.

The Birth Story:
After concerns from my OB on Tuesday, 9/29 that my amniotic fluid was a bit low the decision was made for inducement that next morning. Blair and I checked into Community North Hospital at 7:30am and Pitocin was started at 8:30am. I was a nervous wreck about the inducement. As the day started, I realized all the prayers that were being said for us started to become evident. Upon being admitted, we were greeted with the most amazing nurse that helped calm my nerves and mentioned we would take the dosage of Pitocin very slow in order to help contractions start gradually. The Pitocin was started ~8:30am and our nurse checked on us frequently to see how the Pitocin was working and to continue to ease my anxiety. The Pitocin seemed to be working well and by 10:30am I was having regular contractions with the pain getting stronger. I'll sum up the rest of the the L&D by saying that everything happened quickly from this point on. Elias was born at 1:19 pm, which was approx 5 hours from start of Pitocin. Mommy decided that was a pretty EXCELLENT labor and delivery! :)

Blair and I were between two names and therefore Elias didn't have a name for a couple hours. We decided on Elias, which is the greek form of Elijah, meaning "the lord is my god." http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Elias We will likely also call him 'Eli' for short.
Elias was a screamer upon entering the world, but ever since has been the most laid back cat! He cries occasionally, but spends most of his day sleeping or just looking around with his cute dark eyes!

His big sis Clara also thinks he's pretty special. The first day she saw him, she watched him in amazement. She then started to warm up to him and now wants to hold "baby brudder" all the time! We think she'll be quite the helper, as we get adjusted. We made it through night #2 last night and we are adjusting well! Clara has been hanging out with grandma and grandpa over the past couple days, so we can have some 1:1 time with Elias. Clara will return on Monday, along with grandma Darla to lend a helping hand for the week. We are overly blessed with the addition of Elias and are taking in these precious newborn days. Thanks again for all the prayers from friends and family during our pregnancy and labor/delivery. We are blessed to have such amazing support.
