Elias is 2 months old

Elias is now two months old and growing. Actually I'm a bit behind on my posting...he'll be 10weeks on Wednesday. Behind??? What's new with two kiddos!?!?! :)
Elias continues to be the sweetest of the sweet! He is such a content baby and really only cries when hungry or tired. I say he gets his laid back attitude from his momma, but Blair would probably disagree and say it's him that Eli takes after! Elias is changing daily! He is starting to coo and smile lots. He rolled from tummy to back 3x in a row at 8 weeks. Guess he doesn't like 'tummy time!' He is gaining weight steadily and is starting to get chubby cheeks and those cute little thigh rolls! Oh, how I LOVE chubby babies! Sleep is coming along. We have had fairly consistent nights of atleast 5-6 hr spans. I'll take it! :) Blair and I are definitely taking in the stages more the second time around. Less stress and worries after you've been through it all once with a child. This time around we are more laid back and going with the flow!
I can't believe it's time, but I head back to work this week. It will only be for 2 days and the best part is the kiddos will be under the care of their auntie Kaebra! I am SOOOOO blessed and relieved that the kids will be with family. I hope it will make the transition back to work that much easier!

Clara's 3 years old!

Our little girl is growing up! On Saturday, Nov 21st, she turned 3. I can hardly believe where the time has gone. I feel like it was just yesterday when we were racing to the hospital for the delivery. Although, sad to see her grow up, it's a joy to see her mature into a sweet young gal.

Let me just say that we are totally in the girly girl stage. I thought it would be fun this year to let her pick her 'theme' for the party. We went to Target and she went straight for the Disney Princess plates. She also requested flowers and cupcakes...oh and lots of pink! :) Soooo...this little 3yo got everything she wished for. I made her cupcakes, we had flowers, princess plates and decorated with pink balloons and streamers. Exact words out of Clara's mouth, "oh the decorations look lovely!" Kids say the funniest things! We had a nice celebration with family and Clara enjoyed opening lots of fun gifts! Clara has changed so much lately, especially from her last birthday.
Clara's school also celebrated her bday. They have someone special in the child's life to come read their favorite book. Blair went to her class to read 'The three little bears.' It was adorable watching the kids listen and enjoy Clara's favorite book. Happy Thanksgiving!

A busy fall!

The Lynch family has had a VERY busy fall. It started with the arrival of our little prince, Elias, on 9/30. Since then, we've adjusted to being a family of 4 and have continued to keep busy busy busy! Our first adventure was Halloween! Clara was a pretty princess and Elias was a tiger! Clara was on cloud 9 that she was a princess and got to wear all pink! She is truly all girl these days!

We visited the Indy zoo, which was also a fun adventure. We usually go in the summer, so the fall temps while viewing animals were GREAT! As always Clara loved seeing the animals. We enjoyed the adventure with cousin Isaac and buddy Elijah. Elias spent his first visit to the zoo sleeping the whole time! ;0

In the midst of all this, Blair celebrated his 31st birthday and I celebrated the big '30!' I had a nice relaxing birthday and shared the celebration with twin sis, Kaebra! My parents watched the kids on Friday, which gave us free time to go shopping, get lunch and get a mani/pedi. Ahhh free time...a mother's dream! The next day Blair and James arranged for Kaebra and I to enjoy a massage and to continue our shopping. We ended the evening with a gourmet meal made by our husbands. A menu of Smoked Glazed Salmon on the grill, Potato Casserole, and Almond Crusted Asparagus. Kaeb and I were impressed by our husbands culinary skills! :)

Fall is starting to come to an end. Our next big adventures ahead are Clara's 3rd Birthday and Thanksgiving! We are truly blessed this year and have LOTS to be thankful for!

Newborn photos

We recently had newborn photos taken of Elias and wanted to share a sneak peek of them. Jessica Johnston, was the photographer, and she did an amazing job capturing his sweetness! Elias was a wonderful model and only wimpered a few times during the photo shoot! He may have a career in modeling in the future! ;0 Feel free to visit our photographers website to view more of the photos. www.jessicajohnstonphoto.blogspot.com

Elias Paul Lynch

Elias Paul Lynch was born on Wednesday, September 30th at 1:19 pm. He weighed 6#10 oz and was 20 in long. Our hearts are beaming with love for this little guy. He is such a blessing to our family and we can't wait to watch him grow and reach each milestone. For now we are resting peacefully at home enjoying each precious moment the newborn days bring.

The Birth Story:
After concerns from my OB on Tuesday, 9/29 that my amniotic fluid was a bit low the decision was made for inducement that next morning. Blair and I checked into Community North Hospital at 7:30am and Pitocin was started at 8:30am. I was a nervous wreck about the inducement. As the day started, I realized all the prayers that were being said for us started to become evident. Upon being admitted, we were greeted with the most amazing nurse that helped calm my nerves and mentioned we would take the dosage of Pitocin very slow in order to help contractions start gradually. The Pitocin was started ~8:30am and our nurse checked on us frequently to see how the Pitocin was working and to continue to ease my anxiety. The Pitocin seemed to be working well and by 10:30am I was having regular contractions with the pain getting stronger. I'll sum up the rest of the the L&D by saying that everything happened quickly from this point on. Elias was born at 1:19 pm, which was approx 5 hours from start of Pitocin. Mommy decided that was a pretty EXCELLENT labor and delivery! :)

Blair and I were between two names and therefore Elias didn't have a name for a couple hours. We decided on Elias, which is the greek form of Elijah, meaning "the lord is my god." http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Elias We will likely also call him 'Eli' for short.
Elias was a screamer upon entering the world, but ever since has been the most laid back cat! He cries occasionally, but spends most of his day sleeping or just looking around with his cute dark eyes!

His big sis Clara also thinks he's pretty special. The first day she saw him, she watched him in amazement. She then started to warm up to him and now wants to hold "baby brudder" all the time! We think she'll be quite the helper, as we get adjusted. We made it through night #2 last night and we are adjusting well! Clara has been hanging out with grandma and grandpa over the past couple days, so we can have some 1:1 time with Elias. Clara will return on Monday, along with grandma Darla to lend a helping hand for the week. We are overly blessed with the addition of Elias and are taking in these precious newborn days. Thanks again for all the prayers from friends and family during our pregnancy and labor/delivery. We are blessed to have such amazing support.

Baby Lynch Update

We are officially on countdown with me being 10 days from due date (10/2/09). I went to the OB specialist on Monday for a full u/s and stress testing. The u/s shows this little guy at ~7# and my amniotic fluid to be within normal limits. They've been watching the weight and fluid closely for the past month. Based on the results of today, I believe they are going to let me go into labor naturally vs. inducing. Wooohooo! I was fearing inducement and pitocin, so I'm elated that little guy can stay in my belly a little while longer. While we are anxious to meet this little guy, we still have some 'last minute' chores around the house to get done. Blair's going to be busy with his "honey-do" list! :) My vote on delivery is next Wednesday, we'll see if I'm right! Stay tuned for a baby announcement and photos!

Our Busy Bee

Let the learning begin! Clara started "school" this week through a local church. It's a Child's Day Out program that she will attend Fridays from 9:30-1:30. Her classroom is called "The Busy Bees", which Blair and I think it quite fitting for our little Clara!
Clara was very excited to go to school and meet her new friends! She picked out her new back pack, in which she calls "poka dot pack cack!" Of course it's pink! She even told me she was going to share her chocolate pudding with her new friends! Now that's excitement! The drop off went better than I expected. Clara seemed a bit overwhelmed at first, but when it was time to enter the classroom, she smiled and ran in to find her favorite toy...a baby doll in a crib! I asked her if it was o.k. for mommy to leave and she said, "I love you mommy...bye bye!" I knew then that she was going to be alright with the separation this new adventure would provide. I held back the tears until getting into the car. The tears were purely from the thought that my "baby girl" is not so much a baby anymore! Blair and I know that she is going to love the socialization this program will provide. It's also going to give mom some 1:1 time with our new addition, which will be nice! Let this new stage in life begin...

Welcome to our Blog

The Lynch family is joining the blog world! With the addition of our little guy coming, we thought it would be a great way to keep family and friends updated! We look forward to sharing our adventures with you, as you peak into our world!
